Before the flute entered my life, I was a simple science teacher with very little patience. I was also carrying deep grief after the loss of my mother. Life continued through work and daily responsibilities, but inside me there was a sadness that stayed close. I did not yet have something that could guide my emotions toward peace.
My journey began suddenly when I saw Harsh sir playing the flute on Facebook. He said that playing the flute provides peace and calmness. Those words reached me at the right moment. I decided to begin learning, hoping that this simple bamboo instrument might help me find some of the calm I was missing.
The beginning was difficult. Breath and blowing pressure were my biggest struggles. I was used to blowing the शंख, which needs much more pressure, so I naturally blew too hard into the flute. Controlling the airflow felt unfamiliar, and producing sound with the right pressure required patience—the very quality I had so little of. Each attempt made me more aware of my breath and of how gently I needed to approach the instrument.
The turning point came through one-to-one sessions with the mentors. Their guidance helped me work through the difficulty of controlling my blowing pressure. Slowly, the struggle became a practice in dedication. I began to understand that the flute could not be forced. I had to become calmer, listen carefully, and allow my breath to move with greater control.
As I continued, something changed within me. I found calmness, confidence, and an aim for my life. The discipline of learning also brought changes to my work, health, and dedication. The flute became more than an activity; it gave direction to the energy and emotions I had been carrying.
Today, the flute is my life, my GITA, and my path to worship GOD. Through breath, practice, and sound, I continue to move forward. The grief of losing my mother remains part of my story, but now I also have a path that leads me toward peace, purpose, and hope.
