For forty years, I carried a longing to learn the flute. While building my life as a self-employed professional in life and health insurance, that wish remained quietly within me. It never disappeared. When I finally began learning, I was stepping toward something that had waited a very long time to become part of my life.
My first struggle was with breath. Producing and sustaining the sound required effort, and progress did not come all at once. The turning point arrived during the Sunday Webinar, where I gained the confidence to continue. That confidence helped me see that flute learning was possible when approached patiently, through clear steps rather than in a hurry.
The Foundation Course brought discipline and persistence into my journey. Its methodical and structured approach allowed me to work toward each milestone one step at a time. I followed a simple cycle: learn, assimilate, practise, and progress. With sincere submission to the teachings, consistent practice, and correction from time to time, I gradually moved closer to my goal of becoming a Foundation Finisher.
The change has not only been within me. Others are now amazed by the progress I have made in playing the flute. Their response reminds me how far I have come from the early difficulty with breath. More importantly, I have learned that classical art asks for patience, discipline, and openness to correction. Each stage prepares me for the next, and each small improvement strengthens my resolve.
Today, the flute represents the fulfilment of a forty-year longing and the beginning of a continuing learning journey. I believe that even a novice can learn the basics through the Foundation Course when supported by Flute Gandharvas’ teaching methodology and the team’s prompt guidance. I hope others who have long wished to learn the flute will find the confidence to begin and carry their journey forward. May Flute Gandharvas continue to grow in the art of music, nurture innumerable flautists, and become synonymous with flute learning.
