A Journey with the Flute

As a young boy I was fascinated by the sound of the simple bamboo bansuri played by a stree flute seller when he could play popular songs effortlessly. I purchased a couple of flutes from proper musical shops as well. But, I never learned to play it in a systematic manner. After schooling, I had to spend considerable time in train journeys to reach my college that left me with little time to learn it systematically. After finishing my education, getting a job, an academic position , the flute was always around and I carried it around, and my playing if anything was childish, although people did not adversely comment about my playing. It is after retirement, and the chance notice of an advertisement by Harsh Dave ji that I thought that I must learn it systematically. I particularly liked the online teaching process and the structural approach which had the right kind of flexibility that I was looking for. While there were breaks due to my health conditions, I was determined to finish the Foundation Finishers course. It gives me enormous satisfaction that I could clear it after multiple submissions. I thank the mentors of Flute Gandharvas for pointing out the mistakes and their patience and encouragement.
