Lakshmi grew up hearing Hindustani classical music at home but moved abroad before she could study it. Every teacher she found taught in India, at hours that clashed with her life.
The overseas cohort of the Diamond program runs on a schedule built for her time zone. Weekly classical sessions, one-to-one mentor evaluations of her recordings, and a structured raga curriculum replaced years of improvisation without direction.
She cleared Level 2 last year and performed Raag Yaman at Samarpan — her first live classical performance.
